USA California no discharge zone proposed for large oceangoing vessels
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposes to establish a no discharge zone (NDZ) for large passenger vessels and oceangoing vessels of 300 gross tons or more with two days or more sewage holding capacity that would apply to all California marine waters.
Comments on the proposal must be submitted by November 1. 75 Fed. Reg. 53914
It should be noted that never before has such a large NDZ been proposed and never before has an NDZ been applied to only a portion of the vessels operating within the zone.
