Loadsmart, digital freight technology company, raised $19 million to embark on a major initiative, enhancing the flow of freight through American ports. Taking part in the initiative are Ports America and Maersk Growth as investors. This investment is in line with Loadsmart's series A round in late 2018, totalling the funding at $53.4 million. 

Maersk Oil Trading and Dutch storage company Koole Terminals announced the signing of an agreement to produce IMO 2020-compliant bunker fuel. The production will take place at the Petrochemical Industrial Distillation (PID) unit, located at Koole’s Botlek site in the Port of Rotterdam.

Maersk Decom announced that together with Maersk Supply Service, will be project managing the removal, recycling and waste management of subsea infrastructure for Perenco’s Thames field in the UK North Sea. The project regards the cut and recovery of wellheads and wellhead protection structures, as well as end-to-end recycling and waste management.

Maersk will be cooperating with BlackBuck, an Indian online marketplace for trucking, aiming to provide an online marketplace for containerized trucking in export/import logistics in India. The  platform will be open to the whole industry. This move comes as India plans to decrease logistics costs from 14% of the GDP, to no more than 9% by 2022.

Estonian terminal operator HHLA TK Estonia wants to use blockchain platform technology to improve supply chain efficiency. For this reason, it is participating in the TradeLens platform project for the maritime sector. With TradeLens, terminal operators, like HHLA, receive direct communication with transport companies and other customers or partners.

Port of Fremantle in Western Australia achieves new records after the arrival of two Post Panamax containerships in July. The two containerships calling the port, belong to Maersk and Mediterranean Shipping Company.

Maersk completed its first successful shipped-mangoes operation from Nhava Sheva in Mumbai to London's Felixstowe. Exporter Bombay Exports, exported 21 tonnes of Kesar and Badami mangoes into the time-frame of three weeks via Maersk’s reefer containers that use advance Remote Container Management (RCM) technology and container atmosphere technology. 

A.P. Moller Holding, which controls Danish shipping giant A.P. Moller-Maersk, informed that it will buy Danish wind turbine supplier KK Group, making its first step entering into the renewable energy industry. The acquisition is now subject to approval from the relevant Danish and German authorities, and is expected to be finalized in the third quarter of 2019. 

Denmark has put a fine on French oil and gas major Total, of 500,000 Danish crowns ($75,145) for discharging chemicals in the North Sea, by a company it acquired in 2017, according to the Danish broadcaster DR. The former oil unit of Maersk, Maersk Oil, was reported to the police by the Danish environmental protection agency, back in 2017.
