For the supplies, port fees and berthing fees
The owners of a small ship which escaped to Malta from the besieged Libyan town of Misrata two months ago, have been ordered to pay over 67,000 to Transport Malta.
The Authority had instituted court action against the Georgian registered ship “MV Vasilios N”.
The ship arrived in Malta on May 15. The ship and its crew were abandoned by the ship owners and operators, but the Authority had continued to supply with ship with fuel food and water.
The Authority said it was owed 67,490.45 for the supplies, port fees and berthing fees.
The court heard that the ship’s captain had made several efforts to contact the ship owners and operators but to no avail. The court therefore ordered the ship owners to pay the Authority 67,490.45
