Ships of 300 GT and above are required to report their LRIT positions
The Indian Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) issued a circular reminding owners and operators that ships of 300 GT and above are required to report their LRIT positions on scheduled times.
Owners and operators are expected to monitor the LRIT reports of their ships and to make a monthly summary of LRIT reports of their ships.
The summary should be signed by the CSO and sent to the respective vessels to keep as valid documents during the SEQ/SRC survey and during flag state inspections.
