Human rights apply at sea as equally as they do on land

rights

Human Rights at Sea issued the first of its Educational Video Series, providing “an introduction to human rights” with a focus on their application in the maritime environment.

As explained, a ship is like a floating island: protected by the laws of the country whose flag at flies. Human rights apply at sea as equally as they do on land.

The organization reminds seafarers that human rights apply to everyone and that no one can take them away from them, whatever their nationality, ethnic origin, color, language, religion, sex is.
