Danish Shipping recently announced that it is planning to enhance a number of areas, which will become top priorities for the company and will cause a new organisation in Danish Shipping’s management team.
The company said that it will concentrate more on research policy, digitalisation, qualifications and training policy in the coming years, areas that will be more important for the representation of interests and member services in the coming years.
This plan is already taking shape, with an educational program and the creation of the Maritime Disruptors Academy, which will be held in January and February 2018.
Furthermore, a new organisation and management structure will became effective on 24 November 2017.
Executive Director Jakob Ullegård will be in charge of a new department for Business Development and Communication.
This department will focus on the political aspects of areas such as research, education and transport and development of Danish Shipping’s own programs under the auspices of the Danish Shipping Academy.
However, Danish Shipping announced that it will maintain intact the areas that are highly requested by the members and central to the shipping industry’s framework conditions.
For this reason, Executive Director Anne W. Trolle will continue to be responsible for Employment Conditions, Recruitment and Training, including the specific implementation of the educational package that Danish Shipping has contributed to.
Moreover, Current Deputy Director Jacob K. Clasen will be Executive Director with responsibility for the Politics and Analysis Department, which will deal with taxes, business law and trade policy and Deputy Director Maria Skipper has been appointed Executive Director and will continue to be at the head of Security, Environment and Maritime Research.
“We must continuously ensure that we have the organisation and the skills needed to represent our members’ interests. This requires that we strengthen our focus on selected areas, which is now also reflected in our organisation,” Director General and CEO Anne H. Steffensen, stated.
