The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) issued an investigation report on the collision of the fishing vessel 'Polaris' with the tanker 'Tofteviken' in the Atlantic Ocean in May 2018. NTSB identified a poor lookout as key cause of the accident, in breach of COLREGs. 

Maritime New Zealand ordered an Auckland recreational boatie to pay $5,050 in fines and emotional harm payments after causing a collision on the Waitematā Harbour. Maritime NZ Northern Regional Compliance Manager, Neil Rowarth, stated that Mr Hutchings had put the lives of others in danger by acting recklessly.

Japan Transport Safety Board (JTSB) issued an investigation report on the collision of two container ships while Hanshin Port, Kobe Area, Japan, in May 2018. The incident resulted to no fatalities, but it highlighted issues associated with poor communication and misjudgment. 

Two bulk carriers, 'Spring Snow' and 'Klima', collided on 4 July within Singapore port waters. The incident took place while the two vessels were performing bunkering operations. The damages to 'Spring Snow' are not known, while 'Klima' sustained hull breach in the cargo hold area, as well as water ingress. 

Two passengers were injured, one of them seriously, after the airboat 'Gale Force' collided with a tree, during tourism operations on Sweets Lagoon, Northern Territory, at about 1010 hours on 22 June 2019. The ATSB has commenced an investigation in the collision.

The inland container ship Yu Hang 18 collided with the berthed bulk carrier Odigitria, near Zhenjiang, on July 6. Both ships sustained damages, while 7 containers fell from Yu Hang 18. According to initial information, the accident took place as the container ship lost control.

US Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit Lake Charles is carrying out a Marine Casualty Investigation in cooperation with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Law Enforcement Division to determine the cause of June 3rd vessel allision with a dredge pipeline operating on the Calcasieu River Ship Channel near Hackberry, La. The incident led to one loss of life and one injury.

Norway's Accident Investigation Board has released its report on the 2018 Aurora Explorer allision, implicating the use of back-up mode operation in the incident. On July 15 2018, the Aurora Explorer vessel collided with a quay while docking at Barentsburg. During the arrival, the 125 French-passengers were standing on the open deck, resulting to many falling when the collision occurred.

The US NTSB issued an investigation report on the contact of the towing vessel 'Steve Richoux' with a pier on the Mississippi River, caused by a steering system failure. There were no pollution or injuries, but estimated property damage exceeded $3 million.

UK MAIB focuses on a collision accident concerning a luxury catamaran and a ferry. The catamaran tried to avoid the collision but its port side made heavy contact with the ferry. The Safety Digest notes that passage planning is of a great importance for better-safety conditions.
