Iranian team saved South Korean tanker from sinking
Fire broke out in its engine room

2011.6.8-lifeboat.jpgIranian teams have rescued a South Korean oil tanker in danger of sinking because of a fire in its engine room.

The tanker was on his way from Bangladesh to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) when fire in engine room started.

The vessel sent out a call for help in waters to the southwest of Iran's Jask Port in the Sea of Oman.

The Ports and Maritime Organization's Hormozgan Search and Rescue Center responded to the call with a rescue vessel. An Iranian Navy frigate assisted in the operation.

The tanker continued its way after the fire was extinguished.
